The IRS has issued a notice recently that warns of phishing scams that could cause some trouble for you. Phishing is a scam where a low down thief uses an email or a website to obtain personal information from unsuspecting taxpayers. The IRS does not send email communications to taxpayers to obtain information. If you receive an email purporting to be from the IRS, report it to phishing@irs.gov immediately.
